The story behind the book
I first had the idea for an inspirational children's book about my dad's life when my oldest son was born in 2004. Not having much luck finding an illustrator or publisher, I finally self-published it in 2020 through Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing under the title Little Tony: The Heroic Journey of Tony Oliva. I thought my work was done. Then came December 2021 and my dad received the call that he'd been inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame! I knew the book needed to be updated, but this time I wanted my vision to be fully realized.
Through a series of coincidences, the likes of which could be turned into their own book, I connected with Joe Schmit who had just finished writing a book about Joe Mauer's childhood called The Right Thing to Do. Mr. Schmit then introduced me to Amy Quayle at Wise Ink Media who agreed to help bring my vision to life.
I am so excited to announce that an updated hardcover, illustrated version of my book will be released in 2025 under the name No Hay Problema: The Amazing Story of Tony Oliva.

6/22/2025 - The PDF proof from the publisher has been sent to the printers! I am hoping to have a printer copy in my hand within the next couple of weeks. As of now we are on track to receive the books at the end of the Summer.
